Miller and Fleming Propose PhD Thesis Topics

Matthew Miller and Scottie-Beth Fleming both successfully proposed their PhD thesis topics and are PhD Candidates in Aerospace Engineering.

As a part of his dissertation work, Matthew will design and evaluate a decision support system for human Extravehicular Activity (EVA) in the context of asynchronus communications as experienced in long duration space flight. His work uses Cognitive Work Analysis to examine and identify critical characteristics of the EVA work domain.

Scottie-Beth's doctoral work uses mixed methods research to examine and improve aerospace engineering design education. Particularly, her research examines characteristics of and contributors to novice aerospace engineers' multidisciplinary design integration.
